I’m embarrassed to say I had to click on the ref before I got the Stephenson’s gargoyles remark.
The comment in the first article about having the stuff automatically replicate from the NIPRnet to SIPRnet and the Net We Do Not Name worries me though - air gap and sneakernet were such basic security features to the classified nets.
