Multiple, private side conversations going on WRT education. Focus is on “security studies” programs. Resident programs discussed include:
- Georgetown
- George Washington
- Institute for World Politics
- Johns-Hopkins
- Missouri State
- MIT
- Stanford
- UPENN
- APUS
- Norwich
- Kansas State
- Who are we missing in both domains, period?
- Who are we missing in both domains that have similar content but are not explicitly labeled as security studies programs (e.g. School X whose PoliSci program has a security policy track)?
- What non-US distance options are we missing?
Note to Universities: Please don’t flood the comments with pitches. Send me your links/material separately and I’ll compile for everyone for ease of use/access.

Michael,
I know the University of Chicago has an IR degree with an international security studies emphasis.
Also, are you sure about K-State?

I may be reading more into it than was intended, but it seems that they’re moving in that direction.

Yeah, you’re right. It does sound like a legit program, although I’d list it as a resident program instead of a distance program. Depending on how serious they are about that “web-based learning” they talked about, they may end up with an online program in the future, though.
